Trichlorethylene is a synthetic, light-sensitive, volatile, colorless, non-polar liquid that is miscible with many organic solvents. Trichloroethylene is mainly used as a degreaser for metal parts. It produces irritating and poisonous gases when burned.

Application

» The release of this substance into the environment may occur from industrial use: as an intermediate step in the processing of auxiliaries in industrial plants and in the further manufacture of another substance (use of intermediates).
» Coolants in refrigerators, oil-based electric heaters, hydraulic fluids in automotive) suspension, oils in engine oil and brake fluids.
