Thiourea is the simplest member of the thiourea class, which consists of urea in which the oxygen atom has been replaced by sulfur. It has a chromophore and antioxidant function. It is a member of ureas, a member of thioureas and a one-carbon compound. It is derived from a carbonothioic O, O-acid and a urea.
