Sodium dithionite is an inorganic sodium salt, which is the disodium salt of dithionous acid. It has a role as a reducing agent and a bleaching agent. It contains a dithionite (2-).

Application

» This substance is used in the following products: metal surface treatment products, pH regulators and water treatment products, leather processing products, paper chemicals and dyes, textile processing products, dyes and water treatment chemicals.
» The release of this substance into the environment may occur from industrial use: as a processing aid, in the further manufacture of another substance (use of intermediates) and as an intermediate step in the manufacture of the substance.
» Used in machine wash liquids/detergents, automotive care products, paints, coatings or adhesives, fragrances and air fresheners.
