Paraffin liquid paraffin is a highly refined mineral oil used in cosmetics and medicine. It is a liquid consisting of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum.
Application
» This substance is used in the following products: hydraulic fluids and lubricants and greases.
» Other releases of this substance into the environment are likely to occur from: outdoor use in close systems with minimal emissions (eg hydraulic fluids in automotive suspension, lubricants and brake fluids in engine oil).
» Liquid paraffin is a moisturizing and cleaning agent. Due to this feature, it is used in cosmetics and personal care products (eg, hair products, wet wipes).
» It is used in textiles to provide yarn lubricity.
