Cobalt dichloride is a salt of cobalt in which the cobalt metal is in the +2 oxidation state and the counter-anion is chloride. It is used as a water indicator in dryers. It acts as a two-color indicator, allergen, calcium channel blocker and sensitizer. It is a cobalt salt and an inorganic chloride. Contains a cobalt (2+).

Application

» Cobalt chloride is commonly used as a visual indicator of humidity because of its distinctive color change when hydrated.
