Chromic acid is a chromium oxoacid. It has the role of an oxidizing agent. It is the conjugate acid of a hydrogen chromate.

» Used in chemicals (chromates, oxidizing agents, catalysts), chrome plating, intermediates, pharmaceuticals (caustic), process engraving, anodizing, ceramic glazes, colored glass, metal cleaning, inks, tanning, dyes, textile mordant and plastics.
