Ammonia is an inorganic compound consisting of a single nitrogen atom covalently bonded to three hydrogen atoms, an amidase inhibitor and neurotoxin. Ammonia occurs naturally and is produced by human activities. It is an important source of nitrogen that plants and animals need. Bacteria in the intestines can produce ammonia.

» This substance is widely used in coating products, cosmetics, personal care products, heat transfer fluids, washing and cleaning products.
» It is also used in laboratory chemicals, pH regulators, water treatment products, extractors, fertilizers, coating products, metal surface treatment products, non-metal surface treatment products, textile treatment products and paints, water treatment chemicals, heat transfer fluids, photo-chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
» This substance is used in the manufacture of: chemicals, pulp, paper, paper products, textiles, leather, fur, food products, wood and wood products.
» Coolants in refrigerators, oil-based electric heaters, hydraulic fluids in automotive suspension, lubricants in engine oil, and brake fluids contain ammonia.
